Farali Muthiya / Fasting Day Fist

Ingredients:

Amaranth (Rajagara) Flour                             1 cup

Ginger-Chilli Paste                                          1 ts

Soda-bi-carb                                                   Pinch

Bottle Gourd (Dudi) grated                              ½ cup

Oil                                                                    1 ts

Salt to taste

Sugar                                                              1 ts

Moriyo (Samo) boiled                                      1 cup

For Tempering:

Oil                                                                    1 ts

Cumin Seeds                                                  1 ts

Curry Leaves

Sesame Seeds                                                1 ts

Dry Coconut Powder                                       1 tbsp

Fresh Coriander Leaves

Method:

Mix Amaranth Flour, Ginger-Chilli Paste, Soda, grated Bottle Gourd, Oil, Salt, Sugar, boiled Moriyo. Mix very well and prepare dough.

 

Take little dough on your one palm. Close your palm (Fist) to give uneven shape of fist to dough. Repeat to make number of fist from all dough. Then steam all these fists. After steaming, leave them to cool down. Then, cut them in small pieces.

 

Heat oil in a pan. Add Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves and Sesame Seeds. When popped, add all pieces of fists. And mix well while on medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Remove the pan from flame.

 

Beatify with sprinkle of Dry Coconut Powder and Fresh Coriander Leaves.

 

Serve hot and fresh.
