Mangalorean Banana buns / Mangalori Kela Puri

Ingredients:

Whole Wheat Flour                                         1 cup

Refined White Wheat Flour (Maida)                1 cup

Ghee                                                               1 ts

Sugar                                                              2 tbsp

Black Pepper Powder                                     ½ ts

Cumin Seeds                                                  ½ ts

Cumin Powder                                    ½ ts

Soda-bi-Carb                                                   Pinch

Ripe Banana mashed                                     1

Curd                                                                2 tbsp

Water

Oil to Deep Fry.

Method:

Take a Whole Wheat Flour and Refined White Wheat Flour in a kneading bowl. Add Ghee, Sugar, Black Pepper Powder, Cumin Seeds, Cumin Powder, Soda-bi-Carb and mix well. Add mashed Banana and Curd. Mix well. Knead little soft dough. Keep adding water as needed while kneading dough.

 

Leave dough to rest for approx 6 hours.

 

Make small balls of dough. Roll Small Puri (Flat Bread) of all dough.

 

Deep Fry all Puri.

 

Serve with Sambhar and Coconut Chutney.
