Aajma na Pan nu Lot Varu Shak  (Carom Leaves with Gram flour)

Cooking time 5 min., for 2 Persons


Oil                                            2 tbsp

Mustard Seeds                        ½ ts

Cumin Seeds                          ½ ts

Asafoetida Powder                  Pinch

Carom Leaves                         15

Garlic Paste                            1 ts

Red Chilli Powder                   1 tbsp

Turmeric Powder                     ½ ts

Coriander-Cumin Powder       1 ts

Salt to taste

Gram Flour                              ½ cup


Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds. When popped, add Asafoetida Powder and Garlic Paste. Stir it. Add Carom Leaves, Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Coriander-Cumin Powder and panfry stirring slowly. When fried, add Gram Flour, little water and salt. mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Leave it to get cooked on low flame for 2-4 minutes only. After removing pan from the flame, leave it to rest for 3-4 minutes.


Can be garnished with very small chopped Garlic to make it looking mouth watering.


Serve with Chapati or Rotla (Flat Bread of Millet Flour).
