Instant Paniyaram – Paddu

Prep.10 min., Cooking time 10 min., Qty. 3 Plates

Ingredients:

Bread Slices                            3

Steamed or Boiled Rice          ½ cup

Semolina                                 ¼ cup

Gram Flour                              ¼ cup

Curd                                        ½ cup

Rice Flour                                ¼ cup

Onion chopped                        1

Green Chilli chopped              1 ts

Cumin Seeds                          1 ts

Ginger grated                          1 ts

Curry Leaves                           1 ts

Fresh Coriander Leaves         1 ts

Salt to taste

Oil to shallow fry

Chutney or Sambhar for serving

 

Method:

Cut to remove hard border of Bread Slices.

 

Take in a wet grinding jar of your mixer, Bread Slices, Steamed or Boiled Rice, Semolina, Gram Flour, Rice Flour and Curd. Grind it to fine texture. Remove it in a pan.

 

Add chopped Onion, Green Chilli, Cumin Seeds, grated Ginger, Curry Leaves, Fresh Coriander Leaves and Salt. Mix very well.

 

Grease all moulds of Paniyaram pan. Pre-heat the greased pan on low flame.

 

When on low flame, fill in all moulds of the pan with prepared Batter. Please don’t fill more than ¾ to leave enough space to puff up. When bottom side is fried to light brownish, it may approx 5-7 minutes then, turn over Paniyaram in all moulds of the pan. Take care not to bread any. Continue on low flame for another 5-7 minutes to fry another side the Paniyaram to light brownish.

 

Unmould all Paniyaram and arrange on a serving plate.

 

Serve hot with Coconut Chutney or Sambhar.
