Saragva Tameta nu Shak-Drumstick with Tomato

 

Prep.5 min., Cooking time 15 min., for 4 Persons

Ingredients:

Oil                                            2 tbsp

Mustard Seeds                        1 ts

Cumin Seeds                          ½ ts

Asafoetida                               Pinch

Garlic Paste                            1 ts

Onion small chopped              1

Drumstick Leaves                   ½ cup

Drumstick                                4

Red Chilli Powder                   1 ts

Turmeric Powder                     ½ ts

Coriander-Cumin Powder       1 ts

Garm Masala                          ½ ts

Tomato Puree                         ½ cup

Gram Flour                              2 tbsp

Sugar                                      ½ ts

Salt to taste

Method:

Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, Asafoetida Powder. When popped, add Onion and fry to ligh brownish. Add Garlic Paste, Turmeric Powder, Coriander-Cumin Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Garam Masala. Mix well. Add Drumsticks and water. Cook while stirring occasionally.

When Drumsticks are cooked, add Tomato puree and Sugar. Cook for 2-3 minutes at low flame. Add Gram Flour. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Stir slowly and keep turning over the stuff while cooking to avoid Flour clots and Gram Flour sticking and burning at the bottom of the pan.

 

Garnish with Drumstick Leaves. Additional garnishing with sprinkle of very small chopped Onion and Tomato will make it looking saucy.

 

Serve hot with Chapatti and Rice.
