Sweet  Uttapam Platter

Ingredients:

For Batter:

Rice                                                                 3 cup

Skinned and Split black  Gram                      1 cup

Curd                                                                1 cup

Salt

Soda-bi-Carb                                                   Pinch

 

 

For Uttapam:

Butter melted                                                   ½ cup

For Different Toppings:

  1. Choco Banana:

Chocolate Sauce (ready available)           1 tbsp

Ripe Banana slices                                   of 1 banana

  1. Hazelnut-Penut:

Hazelnut Sauce (ready available) 1 tbsp

Roasted Peanut                                        1 tbsp

  1. Mix Nuts:

Chopped Date                                           of 1 date

Chopped Fig                                             of 1 fig

Walnut small pieces                                  of 1 walnut

Chocolate slim slices                                1 tbsp

  1. Jam Almond

Mix Fruit Jam (ready available)                 1 tbsp

Almonds slim slices                                   of 4-5 almonds

Method:

For Batter:

Soak Rice and Skinned-Split Black  Gram separately for 7 hours. Then drain the water from both. Add  some Curd with Rice and grind it. Add some Curd with Skinned-Split Bengal Gram and grind it. Then mix both of them. Adjust batter consistency with adding curd and than . Leave batter for 5 to 6 hours for fermentation. Then mix Salt. Mix Soda-bi-Carb.

 

 

For Uttapam:

Heat thick flat pan on medium flame. Use of non-stick will make cooking easy.

(for Choco Banana Uttapam )

Pour 1 tbsp of Uttapam Batter on the pan. Use flat cooking spoon to spread the Batter quickly in a thick and round shape. On low-medium flame, when bottom side is partially cooked, pour ½ tbsp of butter around and on top of the Uttapam. Spread Chocolate Sauce on the top and arrange Ripe Banana slices in a decorative way of your choice on the top. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Please don’t turn it over. It should be cooked one side only. Remove it from the pan and put on a serving plate.

 

(for Hazelnut-Penut Uttapam )

Pour 1 tbsp of Uttapam Batter on the pan. Use flat cooking spoon to spread the Batter quickly in a thick and round shape. On low-medium flame, when bottom side is partially cooked, pour ½ tbsp of butter around and on top of the Uttapam. Spread Hazelnut Sauce on the top and sprinkle Roasted Peanuts in a decorative way of your choice on the top. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Please don’t turn it over. It should be cooked one side only. Remove it from the pan and put on the same serving plate along with Choco Banana Uttapam.

 

(For Mix Nuts Uttapam )

Pour 1 tbsp of Uttapam Batter on the pan. Use flat cooking spoon to spread the Batter quickly in a thick and round shape. On low-medium flame, when bottom side is partially cooked, pour ½ tbsp of butter around and on top of the Uttapam. Sprinkle Chopped Date, Chopped Fig and Walnut pieces and Chocolate slices in a decorative way of your choice on the top. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Please don’t turn it over. It should be cooked one side only. Remove it from the pan and put on the same serving plate along with Choco Banana Uttapam and Hazelnut-Peanut Uttapam.

 

(For Jam Almond Uttapam)

Pour 1 tbsp of Uttapam Batter on the pan. Use flat cooking spoon to spread the Batter quickly in a thick and round shape. On low-medium flame, when bottom side is partially cooked, pour ½ tbsp of butter around and on top of the Uttapam. Spread Mix Fruit Jam on the top and sprinkle Almond slices in a decorative way of your choice on the top. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Please don’t turn it over. It should be cooked one side only. Remove it from the pan and put on the same serving plate along with other Uttapam to complete the Sweet Uttapam Platter.
