Heart Beet Cake – Semolina cake

Prep.15 min., Cooking time 25 min., Servings 4


Semolina                                 ½ cup

Dry Coconut Powder               ¼ cup

Sugar Powder                         1/8 cup

Ghee                                       1/8 cup

Curd                                        ¼ cup

Beet Root Pulp                        ¼ cup

Baking Powder                        ¼ ts

Baking Soda                            ¼ ts

For Sugar Syrup:

Sugar                                      1 cup

Rose water                              1 tbsp


For Garnishing:

Beet Root chopped slices in heart shape

Red Rose Petals



In a bowl, take Semolina, Dry Coconut Powder, Sugar Powder, Ghee, Curd and Beet Root Pulp. Mix very well. Leave it for 10 minutes to rest.


Then, add Baking Powder and Baking Soda. Mix well.


Set in a greased mould for baking.


Bake for 25 minutes at 180°.


Use this time to prepare Sugar Syrup.


For Sugar Syrup:

Take Sugar in a pan. Add Water enough to cover the Sugar in the pan. Put the pan on medium flame. Stir occasionally. Prepare Sugar Syrup of 1 string. Remove the pan from the flame. Add Rose Water and mix well.


For Serving:

After baking, take the prepared Cake on a serving plate direct from the oven.


When the Cake is still hot, pour prepared Sugar Syrup spreading all over it.


Arrange heart shape slices of Beet Root and sprinkle some Red Rose Petals to decorate.
